Today, I am taking the day off. This is rare. I usually have follow up work to do, projects to move forward, and a long list of things I am behind on.
Where I could definitely find work to do, and my list of projects wanting attention is continually long, I also need some time to simply be. I need to garden and play with my son. My partner and I need at least a moment together.
There are no fewer than two community gatherings I would love to go to, and exercise beckons my heart as well as various self care endeavors… but do you know what is most important? Time to do nothing at all.
I love witnessing what unfolds when the basic and usual tasks are let go of. This is the act of meditation in everyday life. If I sit and breathe for a moment, really notice I am breathing, and allow any movement to come directly from that simple breath… what happens?
